Playing With Kyle and Uncle Kevin

Sean and I had a late start today. We laid around and watched some cartoons. Phineas and Ferb is now are favorite. Then, we went shopping to get a few clothes for him for our vacation next week. After polishing off his chicken strips, he took a nap while I got ready for my mom's club banquet.

Uncle Kevin was nice enough to babysit, and Sean had a lot of fun playing in the sprinkler with Kyle. On the drive home, Sean and I had a long discussion about the moon. He kept saying that he couldn't see outside and I told him that it was night time. We found a sliver of the moon and he watched it all the way home.

Play Day With Kyle

Sean and Kyle
Kyle just finishing showing Sean how it's done

Look Mommy, I did it!

Since Kyle spent the night last night, he and Sean got to play a lot this am. Poor Kyle must have been tired of hearing his name called all last night and this morning. Sean kept saying, "Kyle, you wanna play with me?" and "Kyle, watch this". After feeding them breakfast, I got out the slip n slide and this time added some bath soap to make it extra slippery. The boys seemed to have fun. They watched some cartoons and then we brought Kyle back home. There is a 6 yr age difference between the cousins and Kyle was so sweet to play with Sean and Sean was enthralled by getting to play with a "big boy".

School and A Sleepover, Too!!

Cousins and Daddy's feet

Sean with his fist in the air yelling "Geaux Tigers"
Sean had camp today and loved playing in the water for "water day". He told me that he didn't get into any time outs today! He and I both took a great nap, as he woke up at 1am for some reason. After his nap, we went to go pick up cousin Kyle for a sleepover. Right now, Kyle, Kenny and Sean are watching the LSU game. Really, Kyle and Kenny are watching and Sean is trying to get attention since he has an audience tonight! I'm escaping from all of the testosterone to watch a movie on tv.

Henry the Hermit Crab

working up a sweat at Kyle's game

Henry, the "hernie crab"

not sure what to think

Sean and I worked on a handmade present for Kenny for Father's Day, but it didn't turn out like I thought. I had painted a canvas in yellow (which turned out well), then I wanted to Sean to put his purple painted hand prints on the canvas. Kenny is an LSU fan. Well, the finger paint did not turn out too well on the canvas. Next step was to take pictures of Sean in his LSU football uniform. The sun made him squint, so we moved the operation inside and then, Sean decided he didn't want his picture taken. I did manage to get a few that we framed.

Kenny told me that his marketing rep brought Sean a hermit crab from her vacation. Sean and I are both scared of it. I told Kenny that it looks like he (Kenny) has a new friend! Kenny came up with the name Henry and Sean likes it. Kenny is now in charge of feeding and playing with Henry. Yuck. Sean calls him ,"Henry the hernie crab".

Now, we're off to watch Kyle play in the All Stars baseball game.

Boys Will Be Boys

Sean went to school today and learned about frogs. He held a frog, painted a picture of a frog and fed a frog. He said he liked it. This coupled with his curiosity with ants has told me that we are entering the "bugs in my pocket and jumping in mud" phase.

After school, Sean took a nap....yeah!! School seems to wear him out. We had to run an errand near Covington, so we went to visit Aunt Debbie and Cousin Kyle. Sean has the best time at their house. Kyle is 6 yrs older than Sean and Sean has a blast following Kyle and wanting to be just like him. The boys decided to play outside throwing basketballs around while Debbie and I watched. Did I mention that it rained today? On the northshore, we have culverts in our neighborhoods that become muddy and rain filled. You can see where this is headed. Sean threw a ball into a culvert and went in after it. He then, discovered how much fun it was to make the ball splash in the mud. Kyle started to laugh the more Sean jumped in the mud. This made Sean jump even more. By the end, Sean's tan socks were now brown. I tried not to fuss and started to take pictures. Since I only have a sister, spending all of my time with boys (Kenny and Sean) is a new experience. I now am learning to like bugs and mud puddles. Sean had so much fun and his laugh made the laundry I am now doing all worth it.
