Sean got a haircut today since school starts next in a couple of weeks. I had been putting it off, b/c I like his hair long, but I have to admit that he looks so cute. He kept saying that he didn't want to go, but he did great (no tears) and got to pick out a truck at Target.
This evening, Sean started SoccerTots and had a great time. He really is quite good.

Dennis the Menace Gets A Haircut, Again
Sean repeats most of what he hears and I had told him 2 wks ago that I was upset that the lady who cut his hair didn't cut enough in the front. He's been telling me everyday, "that lady didn't cut a lot". So, we went to a new place recommended by one of our friends.
There weren't many people waiting when we got there, so I figured that our wait would be short. Boy, was I wrong. There were 2 stylists and they cut very slowly. There were some toys for Sean to play with, but after an hour, he began to run throughout the salon and even opened the drawer on the cash register twice!! Some people waiting with us just laughed and said he was being 3 and a boy. To me, he was being my Dennis the Menace (into everything and testing his boundaries with me).
Finally, I asked another stylist if she would cut his hair. I was so proud of "Dennis". He didn't cry when they put the gown on him and he sat still for the whole 10 min. She said that he kept asking her if he could push the button on the clippers, so when she was done, Sean got to turn the clippers off. She gave him a lollipop, too. The cut is way too short for my taste, but with the summer heat, I think Sean will like it.

A Surprise Haircut
Last night, when I was putting Sean to sleep, his memory again, amazed me. He popped up and said the blue train blew it's horn. I asked him what train and he told me that it was the train in the movie, Cars. We had just watched the movie that day and that scene must have been important to him :).
Today Sean didn't have school which meant that I had to plan some activities for us. We ran some errands and then, I surprised Sean when we pulled up to a hair salon for his haircut. I usually drive all the way to Kenner to take him to a place that specializes in children's cuts. This new place was local and was advertised in a children's directory. However, the woman told me that they won't cut hair of children who cry, which Sean sometimes does. I was really mad because they advertise that they cut children's hair and I know that some children do cry. Well, she swooped him up and took him to get his hair cut and asked me to stay behind, because he would probably cry if he saw me. Sean did great!! No tears and I could hear him telling her about his bo-bo on his arm and something about police cars. Since I surprised him with this and he didn't want to do it and since he didn't cry, he got a toy when it was finished. My baby is growing up. This was the 1st haircut with no tears.
