Mommy Duck And Her Baby Duck

where are my sunglasses?
getting their food "all by myself"

He's got to have on his "shades"

Sean and I were both chomping at the bit to get out of the house when I saw that there were a few slices of bread left and a new bag of bread next to it. I grabbed the small bag and we headed to a park where I knew there would be ducks. Sean had the best time feeding the ducks their "lunch". He also almost did a header into the mucky water in an attempt to pet the ducks. My son has no fear and loves to pet all animals from alligators to ducks. He is still determined to catch a bird in flight and pet him!

A Five Minute Playdate

Kenny was finally home from work at a good time last night, so Sean was able to play with him. It was so cute to listen to them play hide and seek and "dinosaur". I stayed back in the bedroom to let them have some father/son time before I joined them.

This morning Sean didn't want Kenny to leave for work. I know that this was hard on both of him. Sean kept giving him more hugs and held on to his leg. I lured him away with some of his favorite juice.

We went to the park on the southshore to meet some of my mommy friends that I last saw around Easter. Sean was talkative the entire way. He pointed out all of the boats and trucks to me. When we got there, I noticed all of the very small toddlers and thought to myself that this was a bad idea and I was right. Sean is very quick in his movements and tends to "steamroll" others and doesn't seem to notice. He also had regressed back to giving hugs around the neck. Kenny and I have been telling him to hug around the waist and now I've asked him not to touch anyone, but he startled 2 little girls and was running so fast, that I figured that we better head on out. While, still on the southshore, we went to Toys R Us (another mistake) to finish getting my niece's b-day gifts. I normally do this when he is in school, but that is only 1/2 days and 2 days a week and I have no sitters until Maw Maw is off from work this summer. So, when we went by the 4-wheelers, which he wants so badly, he had a tantrum. I told him that Maw Maw and Dukie want to get him that for Christmas, but he's only 3 and didn't understand. So, he wound up with a small toy John Deere tractor.

After his nap, it was back outside to play. We played with his sand and he "cut the grass" with his new tractor. He does this by rolling his tractor on the grass. We went out front and walked around the neighborhood and then he stopped to pick me some flowers! However, there were bees on the flowers and he asked me if he could "pet them". I told him that bees sting and give bo-bo's, so we need to stay away from them. He managed to find 2 flowers. He said one was for me and one was for him. I did manage to get a few pics from the park.

Playdate at the Park

This morning, Sean sat by me as I drank my coffee and said, "mommy, do eye kisses". He hasn't asked for this in awhile. He calls them "eye kisses", but it is when Kenny or I blink our lashes against his face. He laughs and laughs.

We headed off to the park to meet Mason, Peyton, Kate and Maggie. Sean got to ride in his new big boy booster seat. He loved it.

Sean had fun at the park, but was most excited that after the park, he would get to ride in Nanny's car. He loves riding in people's cars. Nanny needed me and Sean to sit in her car with Ashley while she ran into Abita to drop off some things for Uncle Joey's surprise party tomorrow night.

When, we got home, he fell asleep right away and I had to wake him up, so he would sleep tonight. After this, we went shopping because I needed some clothes. When, we came home, he watched me try them on and said, "mommy, that's so cute". I laughed because after I dress him, I tell him to let me look at him and I tell him how cute he looks. Here are some pics from the park.

Alligators and T-Ball

At the park
Getting ready to bat

This morning, Sean and I went to the playground at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield. It's not too far from our house and the country roads are beautiful. We played at the park for a little bit, then, we went on a nature trail. I had seen a sign about alligators, so I told Sean that we would look for some. Instead, he bent down and found a caterpillar and even said the word, right. We think he learned this at school or from the Wonder Pets cartoon :). He started to touch it and got mad at me when I made him stop, because I think caterpillars sting? After this, I told him we would go where I saw the sign about alligators. We looked in the water and didn't see any. Well, this led to him crying in the car, "I want to see alligator" over and over and over. I told him that we were going to the zoo next week and he would see one, but he wanted to go to the zoo today. I had an inkling that nap time was coming and I was right. We came home and he slept for 2 hours!

Then, we got ready for his first t-ball game. We got there early, as I usually do and waited for Kenny to get there along with the rest of his team. When we were walking in Sean was talking about tractors and 4 wheelers. I think he thought that we were at the strawberry patch. Then, he said what I thought was "shirley", but it turned out that he was saying, "Coach Hurley", who I had told him would be his coach. So, we're not too sure where the tractors fit in. The boys and a few girls, I might add, joined their daddies in the outfield and practiced catching a ball. I don't think any of them caught any, but they were having fun. I laughed watching all of them, piling on top of the ball after it was batted and no one wanted to throw the ball to the bases, because it was their ball. Kenny and I had fun watching our baby play his first team sport!
