Fun in the Bayou

Today, we headed down to Mr. Phil's house in Thibodaux for a Good Friday crawfish boil. Sean spent the drive looking for boats in the waterways and Kenny and I competed about with was better, his GPS or my Onstar (we used both!). I got Sean to say, "Onstar rocks". It was a great drive with a lot laughing.

We can't get Sean to eat crawfish, so he ate his usual, chicken nuggets. I took a picture of him eating these instead of crawfish. Hopefully, one day he'll like them. Sean had fun playing basketball and letting his cousins tickle him. He is the youngest out of this group of cousins. Watching Kenny spent alone time with Sean warmed my heart. I saw the two of them rocking on a swing and got teary. I joined them and it was so nice. Sean missed his nap today, so we had a couple of meltdowns and as we predicted, he fell asleep in the car on the way home.

It was so nice to spend time together as a family.

Crawfish Boil in Memory of Uncle Danny

collage of Danny
do I have to eat this?

Getting those weeds

Today, Sean and I rode with Maw Maw and Dukie to Mr. Pat's house for Uncle Danny's crawfish boil in honor of his birthday. Kenny had to take a class and couldn't go with us, but all of Sean's aunts, uncles and cousins were there. We thought it best not to tell Sean why were there. It was a hard day for us, but Sean had so much fun which made the day easier.

Sean got to jump on a spacewalk and a trampoline. He went down a slide a lot of times and even played on the swing. He even pumped his legs a little bit on the swing. His favorite toy though, was a weedeater and he used it just like Kenny. Maw Maw and I were laughing watching him "cut the grass".
I was so happy that Aunt Debbie got Sean to eat a hamburger patty. That was a first for my chicken nugget boy.

On the way home, Sean fell asleep and Maw Maw held his head up the whole way, so his neck wouldn't hurt....sweet Maw Maw.

Later that night, Kenny was home and we all watched Marley and Me. It was a wonderful family day and night. We love you, Danny!!!
