Pillow Talk

I just had to come back and write this while it was fresh in my mind. I lie down with Sean every night until he falls asleep. When Kenny isn't working, he lies with him. Sean has rubbed our eyelids since he was 10 mths old. The doctor said that it comforts him like a security blanket.

Tonight, he was rubbing my eyes and he leaned over and started giving me a lot of kisses and then, he started to kiss my head. It tickled and I laughed, so he asked for me to kiss him the same way, so that it would tickle him, too.

He lays awake and his mind starts working before he sleeps. He remembered that I saw a small spider in my purse this week and he said, "where's the spider?". It took me a few seconds to realize what he was talking about. I said, "it went away" and he said, "it flew away into the sky". Then, he asked me where the birds were. He had seen a bird this morning and he has been wanting to hold one. I've told him that the birds don't like to be held and fly away quickly. He asked tonight, "where do they fly?". I started to explain that they build nests, then he asked what nests were. Before I knew it, his mind had finally rested and my angel was asleep.
