End of the Season

water break with friends
his first medal

Sean didn't fall asleep until 10:30 last night!! I have no idea why, but his little body just didn't wind down until then. I thought we would sleep late, but the people that were coming to build our new shed showed up at 7:30am, so this set the scene for a cranky morning.

Sean perked up when he heard the construction begin. When, the man dropped some wood, Sean turned to me and said, "that doesn't sound good". I laughed so hard that I almost choked on my coffee. It is amazing the sayings that he picks up.

This evening was Sean's last t-ball game and he had fun!! I actually think that he is suited for football because he loves to tackle!! At the end of the game, he was awarded with a medal. His first award. Sean, I'm so proud of you, baby. Maw Maw, Dukie, Daddy and Abby were at your game, along with me, of course. Afterwards, we went to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate.

Snakes...Yikes!!

ready to catch
Today was a very exciting day for Sean, but not so much for me or my neighbor. We started out our day running errands. I have to say that Sean is pretty good when we go on errands. Of course, he loved getting a car wash, also. When, we got home, as I was pulling into the driveway my heart stopped. I knew right away that is was a snake. It wasn't a small garden snake, but a snake about 18 inches long, thick and brown w/ spots. Right away, I called Kenny. I don't know why because he was at work. Then, I locked Sean in the car and ran over to my neighbor's house and told him. By the time he came out, the snake had slithered away and we couldn't find it. I jumped back into the car and headed to the feed store (yes, we do live in the country :)) and bought some snake repellent. Sean was excited. He says that he wants to touch the snake, but I kept telling him that it could bite us and we would be hurt. My neighbor came over to check on us and said that he, too, is afraid of snakes. Poor guy, here I was asking him to snake hunt for me.

I'm still very leery and won't play in the backyard until Kenny spreads the repellent and even then, I'm going to be nervous.

On a brighter note, Sean had t-ball tonight and they took individual and team pics. Sean was so good and looked so cute standing for the team pic with his hands behind his back like the other boys.

I also informed Kenny that Sean is under the impression that Kenny is going to kill the snake for us. After all, he thinks Kenny is his hero. He said, "my daddy will kill that snake for us, mommy". Let's pray that the snake is gone!!

Those Lazy Hazy Days...

pretending to sleep

way to catch that ball, baby!

Sean and I did a lot of nothing today! The main outing was going to Wal-Mart for some groceries and household items. By the time we got home, it was time for lunch and then nap time. Sean did eat some ham for lunch. He is an incredibly picky eater and this was a shock that he ate meat! He usually only eats pancakes, french fries, fruit, and of course, chicken nuggets.

After his nap, we got ready for t-ball. Kenny had to go back to work, but was able to be there for most of the game. Sean is so carefree on the field. He spent most of the practice doing splits instead of trying to catch the ball. He did make one catch, though. Yeah, Sean!! I also had to laugh when he ran from 1st base to home. It really is so cute. His friend, Mason, walked out onto the field with a nacho chip covered in cheese. The coach, laughed and said, "there's no nachos in t-ball". Sean's favorite part of t-ball was the end when the coach hands out popsicles. When, we got home, he told me that he was tired and turned my mat in the kitchen over and pretended to be sleeping. He then, fell asleep at 11pm!! Being lazy and t-ball in the evening...nothing better!!

What's This and What's That?

Sean is still thinking it is Easter because last night, he told me, "Happy Easter Bunny Rabbit Day". The things that he says are so cute. This morning, we were all in our bedroom and he sniffed a silk rose and said, "that doesn't smell so good". Kenny and I were both laughing.

We had a lot of errands to do today, so we headed off in the car to the store. Sean asked, "when's the honeybird coming?". I put up a hummingbird feeder and he has been waiting to see his first hummingbird. When, we got to K-mart, he kept asking me, "mommy, what's that for" and "what's this over thar"....he has a little bit of a twang right now. Now, I know that we are finally in the curious phase. Now, I'm waiting for "why" to begin.

Tonight, Sean had his second t-ball game and he had a bunch of cheerleaders. Maw Maw, Dukie, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Kevin and cousins, Megan, Kyle and Abby all came out to cheer Sean on. It was so cute and funny. Sean had fun eating chips from Abby while in the batters circle and he enjoyed running circles around 3rd base. We all had a great time. I think he is asleep already, because he is in the den with Kenny and it's very quiet. I think I'm going to bed, too!

Alligators and T-Ball

At the park
Getting ready to bat

This morning, Sean and I went to the playground at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield. It's not too far from our house and the country roads are beautiful. We played at the park for a little bit, then, we went on a nature trail. I had seen a sign about alligators, so I told Sean that we would look for some. Instead, he bent down and found a caterpillar and even said the word, right. We think he learned this at school or from the Wonder Pets cartoon :). He started to touch it and got mad at me when I made him stop, because I think caterpillars sting? After this, I told him we would go where I saw the sign about alligators. We looked in the water and didn't see any. Well, this led to him crying in the car, "I want to see alligator" over and over and over. I told him that we were going to the zoo next week and he would see one, but he wanted to go to the zoo today. I had an inkling that nap time was coming and I was right. We came home and he slept for 2 hours!

Then, we got ready for his first t-ball game. We got there early, as I usually do and waited for Kenny to get there along with the rest of his team. When we were walking in Sean was talking about tractors and 4 wheelers. I think he thought that we were at the strawberry patch. Then, he said what I thought was "shirley", but it turned out that he was saying, "Coach Hurley", who I had told him would be his coach. So, we're not too sure where the tractors fit in. The boys and a few girls, I might add, joined their daddies in the outfield and practiced catching a ball. I don't think any of them caught any, but they were having fun. I laughed watching all of them, piling on top of the ball after it was batted and no one wanted to throw the ball to the bases, because it was their ball. Kenny and I had fun watching our baby play his first team sport!
