He Makes Me Laugh

Sean and I ran errands for most of the day (not much fun for either one of us), but after his nap, we went to Nanny's house. Sean got to ride in Abby's hot pink Barbie jeep! He was loving it and he picked up the driving pretty quickly. He steered really well. Now, he just needs to practice reverse and he's ready for the sidewalks!

Every night, I ask him if he's had fun during the day and he said yes. Then, without missing a beat he said, "what did I do today"! I had a good laugh and gave him lots of hugs.

Building A Shed

measuring just like Daddy
he loves drills

Sean was so excited this morning because as he said, "Dukie and Uncle Bubba are coming to build a shed." Actually, they are building a deck for us to have our new shed put onto. The shed will be coming in a couple of weeks. Sean got to hold and press a drill (there were no drill bits in it) and he even pulled out a tape measure and mimicked Daddy by measuring a piece of wood.

During this, Sean came with me and Maw Maw and Nanny to have a Mother's Day lunch for Maw Maw. We gave her Sean's framed school picture and two finger paintings that Sean had made for her. Maw Maw was so happy. The restaurant didn't have chicken strips for Sean, so since we were with Maw Maw, she made sure that Sean got ice cream as a treat after lunch.

Sean was so tired from being out in the sun all morning with the "builders", that he went right to sleep after lunch.

Tonight, I'm going out to dinner with my sorority sisters that I haven't seen in about 20 years and Sean and Kenny are going to have a father/son bonding night!

Playdate at the Park

This morning, Sean sat by me as I drank my coffee and said, "mommy, do eye kisses". He hasn't asked for this in awhile. He calls them "eye kisses", but it is when Kenny or I blink our lashes against his face. He laughs and laughs.

We headed off to the park to meet Mason, Peyton, Kate and Maggie. Sean got to ride in his new big boy booster seat. He loved it.

Sean had fun at the park, but was most excited that after the park, he would get to ride in Nanny's car. He loves riding in people's cars. Nanny needed me and Sean to sit in her car with Ashley while she ran into Abita to drop off some things for Uncle Joey's surprise party tomorrow night.

When, we got home, he fell asleep right away and I had to wake him up, so he would sleep tonight. After this, we went shopping because I needed some clothes. When, we came home, he watched me try them on and said, "mommy, that's so cute". I laughed because after I dress him, I tell him to let me look at him and I tell him how cute he looks. Here are some pics from the park.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail....

Today was Easter Sunday and Sean slept until 8am!! After we all woke up, we went out to the den to see what the Easter Bunny had left for Sean. He looked at his basket and said, "wow". I wished I had gotten it on video. The bunny left Sean a lot of candy, some moon sand and a "big ambulance"(this is what Sean asked the bunny for, specifically). Sean's favorite thing was actually an Easter egg that was filled with a Hot Wheels car. After having some jelly beans for breakfast....I know, but it is a holiday, we got dressed up and went to Mass. Sean did pretty well for sitting or should I say crawling and laying on the floor through a 45 min. Mass. Kenny was really proud of him, because they usually have to go take a walk, because Sean likes to talk during the Mass.

Afterwards, we came home and changed and went to Nanny and Uncle Joey's house for lunch. Kenny and I ate a lot and Sean, as usual, just ate a little. Maw Maw and Dukie were there and had an Easter basket for Sean and Nanny had a basket for him, too. Sean told me tonight, that he needs to tell the Easter Bunny "thank you". He's so cute! He also asked me where Santa lives and I told him the North Pole where it's very cold. Then, he said, "what about the bunny?" I had to ponder this one and then I came up with in a carrot patch. That seemed to satisfy my curious little one!

Egg Hunt, Ant Bites and Cousins

Sean woke up in the middle of the night crying, "mommy, mommy", so I cuddled with him for a good bit before he fell asleep, again. In the morning, I got to sleep in (thank you, Kenny!) to catch up on some sleep. Kenny went to work and Sean and I got ready for an Easter egg hunt at his school.

The school divided the "hunt areas" according to age which was a brilliant idea! Sean started picking up his eggs right away, but then, discovered an egg that had been opened and had jelly beans in it. Immediately, he stopped hunting for eggs and ate those jelly beans! He's loves candy just like his mommy! He looked for some more eggs with coaxing from me, but then went back to the jelly beans. (Note to self..buy some jelly beans, as this could be a great bribery tool for eating dinner, sharing, etc).

After the egg hunt, Sean was tired, so he napped and I uploaded a bunch of pictures. Then, I decided to cut the front yard. Sean loved this! He helped me push the mower and got out his toy mower and mowed the lawn with me. During this, I stepped in an "ant pilt", as Sean would say and I did very well not to let any bad words slip out!

After cooling down, we got in the car to do one of our favorite Sunday afternoon things..take a drive. We drove by Nanny's house and much to Sean's delight, his cousins, Abby and Ashley and Uncle Joey were outside playing. Sean rode Abby's scooter and had a great time. We stayed for dinner and then headed back out to play some more. There was a small meltdown, because he didn't want to leave, but we made it back to the car. On the way home, Sean said,"mommy, the sun's going down". I told him, yes it was and how smart he was. We enjoyed a nice ride home trying to find the sun "hiding b'ind those trees"! He's so talkative and cute!

Blue Hands

Today started pretty much like any other. Sean and I are always on the go. He loves to be out and about and so do I. I was calling Nanny to see what she and the girls were up to. Sean hates it when I'm on the phone. He still wants my attention all of the time, so when he grabbed an Easter egg that we had dyed 2 days earlier and sat on the sofa with it, I didn't say anything. It was covered with stickers and it was keeping him busy, so I seized the opportunity to get on the phone. As am finishing up, I hear him say, "look Mommy, blue". I don't know if his hands had been wet or if the dye comes off of the eggs, but his hands were bright blue. I got off the phone and grabbed some wet wipes and began to wash his hands. When, I realized that all I had done was lighten the blue, all I could do was laugh. I grabbed the camera and took a picture and then got on the internet to see what would remove the dye. It suggested Lava soap. We got into the car and headed to Target.

When, I was getting him into the cart, he began his ritual waving to people. As he waves to passing cars, he says, "it's nice to wave to people". It's so cute and so many people wave back to him. We couldn't find any soap, so I bought some nail polish remover and hoped it would work. In the parking lot, I tried the remover and no luck. Oh well, I figured it would just come off after a couple of washings. I also bought him a bicycle helmet when we were at the store. Sean is a daredevil, so I figured this was a wise purchase. He picked one with monkeys on it. We went home and put on his helmet, so he could ride his bike. Of course, I had to get some pictures of that and email some to Kenny. Then, we went inside and Sean asked if he could cut paper. I know that they do this at school, so I had bought some child friendly scissors and let him cut. It kept him busy! I was so surprised, because it is hard to keep him focused on one thing for very long. He was so serious, too. Again, I just had to take some pictures of my little blue handed boy cutting paper for the first time for mommy.

A Day of Play

We were in a bit of a rush this morning to make a playdate here in town. Sean was very sassy this morning. I caught him trying to climb the refrigerator and when I told him to get down, he told me "no" and then to "stop it" when I put him in time out. After this, we finally left. Of course, it started to rain when we got into the car and Sean always wants to ride his bike before we go somewhere. I had to talk him out of that, so we could head over to Josh's house.

Sean is in the "mine" phase, so the entire playdate while he was playing with Josh's toys, all I heard from him was "mine, mine". I will be so glad when this phase is over! He did tell me that he had fun which I'm sure he did since he was the one with all of the toys!

We then headed over to Chick-Fil-A to meet Nanny (my sister) and Sean's cousins, Abby and Ashley for lunch. Sean was so good and I made sure to praise him. He ate a little bit and then we went into the play area and he had a ball climbing into the tunnel and then going down the slide. A meltdown was averted by Nanny. When it was time to go, Sean was ready to throw himself on the floor, but Nanny saved the day, by stepping in and putting his shoes on (they have to take them off in the play area).

I tried to get Sean to nap, but it is hit or miss and today was a miss. After trying to get him to rest, we went to ride his bike and to look at the new house that is being built. He got to see a "big truck", so he was happy. So, with no naptime, this was a very, very long day!
